History

Danco Transport Ltd. traces its roots back to the 1940’s where a young John Danish travelled west from Manitoba to look for work. He found it as a trucker hauling cordwood and logs around British Columbia. John had two sons and they both worked in the business after school and weekends entering full time in the 1970’s. At the time, trucking was regulated by the British Columbia Motor Carrier Commission. The boys applied for expanded hauling authorities and were granted authority to haul a wide range of commodities such as general freight, lowbed service, household goods, plus numerous contract hauls. Equipment was added to service the needs of shippers. The business has been continuously owned and operated by the Danish family for over half a century.
